Assignment Brief 2: Task 3

This post is about my ideas for my ident for children. I have many different ideas for my ident. But I have two main ideas that will be a general suite of idents but one will my main one. The idents both are around the idea of the channels logo being splatted across the floor making the logo.

The ident that is gonna be made from this idea of my anamatic. My idea is based around a girl who has an ice cream in her hand and as she is walking she drops an drop of her ice cream onto the floor but as it falls on to the floor it splats and makes the 4Kids shape.

I Had other Idea from this one and it was based anround a playdough ball that is thrown onto the floor but bounces anround for a while then splats against an object in the room showing the "4Kids" logo.

But I did also make other ideas but I put them on a mindmap. Also I had other Idea but they weren't good enought to put on the mind map or write down anyway.

The storyboard below is a scenario I made as an another idea for what I can do for my ident. The story and idea for this ident is quite simple. It goes the along the lines of someones hands grabbing some playdoh and squishing its a couple seconds then placing it on the the table and spelling out the four kids ident across the TV.

Assignment Brief 2: Task 2

In order to find out what appeal to parents and children about television ident i held a focus group and showed them 3 existing childrens televisions idents. I then asked them question about what they like about the idents to help me find out what I should include in my design for my suite of 3 idents for the channel "4 kids".

With the results I got from the survey the first question I asked was what was the age of your child, The reason I asked that is because it informs us what ages mainly watch younger channels, which is excepted.

With asking what gender is child it gives me an idea of what genders watches Tv more and it seems like more girls watches TV. So when it comes to making my ident it should appeal to both boys and girls but maybe it should seem a little more feminine.

This question ask what the persons child's favourite TV channel and it seems like Nickledeon and CBBC seems to have tied in top, but CITV and Disney Jr has come last. This questions answers gives me an idea what types of idents from the most popular channels and see what they are like and see if they are good.

I asked this question on my survey so I could have an idea what childs favourite show so I can take a look at there type animation. Everybody said a different show and nothing stood out.

With this question I asked, what people childrens favourite colour. The two colours that came in top where red and blue. These are two easy colours to use in my ident.

So overall having conducted target audience research to found out what my target audience likes i found out that red and blue are good colours to use and that i should make it in the style in either nickledeon or CBBC.
